Pixels Movie

Did you see Pixels? Yep, that short film written and directed by Patrick Jean about an invasion of New York City by classic 8-bit video games, such as Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Tetris, Arkanoid, and others. Well, the short film went viral and did catch the attention of Hollywood. Adam Sandler's production company Happy Madison has indeed picked up the movie rights and they're now developing a feature film.

The plan is to make a Ghostbusters-style action comedy in which characters come out of a video game to wreak havoc in the real world. Patrick Jean will helm the movie base don a screenplay by Tim Herlihy.

The release date of the full-length Pixels movie is set for May 23, 2014.
